great old style baber shop. Beautiful b/w. Piece of anthology...or archeology! Polydactyle @ 2008-12-12 17:01:19
Ha ha, I think I've been in here. clarence @ 2008-12-12 17:41:00
Hey! Nice shot! You catched the atmosphere of the place!I like this kind of portraits, where the subject is in his "work area". Regards mario iso101 @ 2008-12-12 18:27:00
Lovely B&W and the low angle takes in so much of the place – it is a wonderful piece of framing because you did not point the camera directly at the barber – it is as if he is just one of the fixtures of the place no more important than the chair for example – Beautifully done! daina @ 2008-12-12 20:12:38
wow, you should give the barber dude a copy of this for his wall... just awesome! Elaine- @ 2008-12-13 02:52:25
Really a strong environmental portrait, and you can really tell he loves his place there and everything in it. jo @ 2008-12-13 03:38:20
Lovely Black and white the tones in this are wonderful. There's an old style barbers at the end of my road it's great, perhaps I should get a picture there. Roger McNally @ 2008-12-13 06:18:29
Fantastic portrait. Your exposure is spot on as I like all the tones within the shadows. Of course, your choice of composition is very nice as well. You've captured a real sense of pride here. Chris Cardelli @ 2008-12-13 07:00:51
I like these witnesses, very well done!

Love the BW processing and the angle. Looks like a shot from out of the past. Excellently composed and framed, outstanding job! John Maslowski @ 2008-12-13 11:44:09
This is a great example of a "people in their work environment" portrait. Well done. Sabine @ 2008-12-13 12:09:07
Very nice b&w, and I love how sharp it is too. Tom @ 2008-12-13 14:14:35
une image d'un autre siècle! très beau b&w lasiate @ 2008-12-13 17:02:35
I've always thought it would be cool to fix up a loft. Your space looks like a nice one. I love this greyscale portrait of Henry. His shop is classic. His chair is something to be so proud of...something that should go into a museum if he ever decides to retire. It's wonderful to see him still actively pursuing what he must love. Nice post. sherri @ 2008-12-13 18:02:59
Great tones, low perspective, and composition. Nice portrait work. Sean @ 2008-12-13 21:11:17
Nice shot, the black and white conversion is good! Chris Legg @ 2008-12-14 03:09:49
it's like a repertory image, a BBC kind of find. amazing in each single detail. paolo @ 2008-12-14 04:22:34
What a super interior shot! I like how much of it you've shown and how the barber is both part of the interior and is showing off his space. cat @ 2008-12-14 04:24:02
Wow !!! Old school picture ! Great work Vink @ 2008-12-14 04:57:21

i think it's every photographers dream to shoot a barber shop. angie @ 2008-12-15 19:17:26
He looks like a nice gentleman. I don't think he needs to fear AIDS, but sounds like he's studied it to make a decision to stop the shaves. Fantastic photograph. Rachael @ 2008-12-15 20:31:04
Very nicely done terrorkitten @ 2008-12-16 11:36:15
